A restless engineer, forced onto his back for three weeks by a slipped disk, discovers, in his mind, the thoughts of a woman. She lives in a forest where her seemingly primitive culture has developed much that our culture hasn’t discovered as yet. Her forest is under attack by a remote warlord, and it seems our scientist/engineer is the key to defending it, if only because he has studied World War Two.
Complicating things is the possibility of a nuclear meltdown at Indian Point, and his renewed relationship with an old girlfriend, an actor and director for whom he has created the effect of God emerging out of nowhere on the Broadway stage.
As in all good “magic,” the inexplicable is eventually explained in credible terms.
